Dayspring Presbyterian Church has officers who are selected by the congregation, trained, then elected by the congregation to represent them in accordance with the Book of Church Order of the PCA and the Scriptures. This provides both accountability and transparency to the congregation.
We hope you’ll come to Dayspring PCA and meet the godly men who shepherd their families and the precious saints God has given us.
Meet Our Pastor
The pastor at Dayspring is Robert Barnes. Born in New Orleans and raised on a farm in Prentiss, Miss., Robert attended Belhaven University and then moved to Winter Park, FL. There he served at Howell Branch Fellowship (PCA) and met a beautiful woman in a red dress who quickly realized this country hick needed a wife. They were married and Robert attended seminary at Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, Florida. After completing his degree, for the next 15 years, Robert worked as a musician in the church and a writer and editor with Ligonier Ministries, Third Millennium Ministries, CRU and worked on the Discover God Study Bible and the ESV Study Bible projects. In 2007, Robert was in Liberia, Africa doing mission work with Equipping Leaders International when he received a call from a search committee at Dayspring PCA to consider being their pastor. God knitted hearts and Robert moved with Kim and their two children, Bethany and Noah, and Robert’s mom (who lived with them for 11 years before her death) to Spring Hill.
Robert has been at Dayspring for almost 11 years. Today in addition to pastoral responsibilities, he enjoys playing games with the young adults in his church, reading, and enjoying the beauty of God’s creation (fishing!).
